General Studies
Oakwood University has developed its Bachelor of Science in General Studies degree to meet the needs of students with two or more years of accumulated college credit (70 credits).
The General Studies degree is particularly beneficial to former Oakwood students. It allows them to build on the credits they previously earned from Oakwood as well as other schools to earn a college degree in a manageable amount of time. No majors or minors are required for the degree.
General Studies Credit Requirements
To complete a degree in General Studies, the following requirements must be met:
- Satisfactory completion of 44 hours of general education requirements.
- Completion of 84 additional hours, which include the following:
- Two upper division writing emphasis courses of at least 2 hours each
- 40 upper-division semester credit hour
- 32 hours of credits earned from Oakwood (including LEAP course offerings)
